The 2021/2022 National Business and Technical Education Board (NABTEB) examinations results have been released and the result statistic has been released as well. Announcing the result, Registrar/Chief Executive, NABTEB, Prof. (Mrs.) Ifeoma Isiugo-Abanihe disclosed this while briefing newsmen on the outcome of the 2021 May/June NABTEB examination results in Benin City, the Edo State capital.

The registrar disclosed that a total of 83,504 candidates sat for the examination in 1,614 centres across the country, however, only 79,915 candidates showed up to sit for the examinations, which represents 95.70 per cent.

She said that 58,307 candidates, representing 72.96 per cent of the candidates who sat both exams, scored five credits including English and Mathematics

Comparatively, the registrar added that this year’s performance is higher than the 2020 in-school examination results where 36,202 candidates or 62.99per cent obtained five credits and above including English Language and Mathematics and 48,597 or 84.55per cent of all candidates that sat for the examinations obtained five credits and above with or without English Language and Mathematics.

She added, “Furthermore, a total of 74,069 candidates obtained 5 credits and above with or without English Language and Mathematics; this represents 92.68 per cent of the candidates that sat for the examinations. Comparatively, this performance is higher than the previous year’s 2020 in-school NBC/NTC examinations results where 36,202 candidates representing 63.99 per cent obtained five credits and above including English and Mathematics.”

While noting that the Board has continue to record significant increase in enrollment, the Registrar noted that the Federal Government Recognizes the importance of technical and vocational education and training, along with technology science and Mathematics as tools for national technological development.
